[QAD-MFG/PRO] Debug Terminal mode and enable Desktop mode

Sometime we may get “Telnet authorization failed” and “User not logged on” error in .NET UI.
This article talks about how to debug telnet script and how to turn on desktop mode
for some applications. (32.3 Fixed Asset Maint and 7.5.5 Required Ship Schedule Update)
HOW TO DEBUG
To debug telnet script, we need add following statement into QAD.Client.exe.config under .NET UI
clinet installation DIR.

 <system.diagnostics>
 <switches>
 <add name="QAD.Shell.ShellLoader" value="3" />
      <add name="QAD.Terminal" value="4" />
 </switches>
 </system.diagnostics>

Now, you can find detail login information in QAD.application.log.
It’s easy to discover if there is any problem in User Telnet Maintenance(36.20.10.3).

After solved telnet issue, the embedded terminal screen can be displayed.
For SE release, user will get unreadable junk characters.

Fix:

Change the codepage in client-session.xml file:

<TomCat>/webapps/qadhome/configurations/qadui/client-session.xml
AND
<TomCat>/webapps/qadhome/configurations/default/client-session.xml

Default is:
<TerminalEncoding>UTF-8</TerminalEncoding>
Change to:
<TerminalEncoding>GB2312</TerminalEncoding>

User may also choose the font with corresponding codepage embedded for Terminal display
in .NET UI client (Kai Ti or Hei Ti works).

HOW TO ENABLE DESKTOP MODE
In program information maintenance 36.3.21.1 add following record:

QAD-MFG/PRO-Debug Terminal mode

QAD-MFG/PRO-Debug Terminal mode
